I got called very nasty names last night and all I did was fly into someones mission area. I hadn't even touched the can. Heck I didn't even know a can was there. I was just curious why a Hulk was where it was in space. I never call people nasty names in this game. It is uncalled for. It shows ones immaturity when one does that short of thing.
But, what can I say, it just gives me another reason why I should do what I do to mission runners. They are not nice people.

Originally by: Esu Nahalas For cripe's sake, maybe EVE might not be the right place for the op, either. With that, I'm escaping this thread.
I like Sol. What's wrong with Sol?

Originally by: Ratchman As someone wisely said earlier, if someone is a good person in real-life, but a bad one online, what would they do if they did not fear the consequence? Many of us are only good because of the law of the land. We might even convince ourselves that we're good people. But take a good long look at yourself, and ask yourself what you would do without fear of consequence.
What keeps us all in check?
Speaking for only myself it is not much when it comes to Eve. I avoid making Concord mad. I like my CEO so I try not to make him mad. Besides it's kind of hard to make him mad anyway. I like most of the people I use to fly with in Eve so I wont mess with them (there are not that many). Everyone else in the game I don't care if they get mad at me or not. To me it is just a game. There are so many ways to avoid being "griefed" in this game that I do not have any sympathy for people who complain about being "griefed".
In The World Outside of Eve what keeps me in check is The Law. And I don't go around griefing people at work because I need the money to play Eve. That's about it. Oh, and the wife. Don't want to make her mad.

Originally by: Benzaiten Reverse In MMO's on other hand is very little to protect players, after all there are real people with real feelings behind avatars. And in eve its even worse as security mechanics (concord) most of time even protecting outlaws. Would be more fair if there is actually more risk involved in outlaw side. (mark thief as free kill not just to person who he steals from but for example to all players in system)
I beg to differ. Players have ways to eliminate the source of the irritation. For example last night I decided to acquisition some items from a mission I had found. In that mission area there where three Mission Running Dommies and a total of 15 drones. All from the same corp. When I acquired some items and salvage from the wreaks all I got was targeted by one of them. My Stabber actually tanked the last room for em. I found that funny.
All they had to do to remove me from their mission was to send all 15 drones on me and use whatever weapons they had on the Dommies to kill me. I think 15 drones would have done something to me. What do you think? If someone does not feel the need to stand up for what they think is theirs I have no sympathy for them at all. And I will walk all over them because they deserve nothing less.

It's very possible that they didn't because they guessed if they killed you, you would go all emo-rage (like most pirates/ninja-salvagers do when they get ganked back unexpectedly) and call in 10 corp mates to come kill them. They have every reason to guess that you would do that, especially with the high and mighty attitude you're sporting here.
Frankly all the emo-raging would be much more entertaining if it wasn't just so tiresome.
Emo rage? Me? Not going to happen. The only person I get mad at when I loose a ship is me because I always think of something I could have or should have done in that situation. All the person did when he took my ship was show me he was better then I was at that time. Has for corp mates jumping them, sure, I would do that if I had some. They could also use their eyes to handle that situation. It is called "LOCAL". I use it to watch for their corp mates coming in to handle me. Maybe they could use it too?
I like my high and mighty attitude. The view is nice.

Originally by: Furb Killer TLDR, if they would have been intrested in that loot they would have looted it themselves if they had 3 domis, but they probably didnt give a crap about it.
But they did give a crap. They had someone come back to salvage and loot for em. Some mission runners do that. They do the mission then come back to loot. Not everyone shoots and loots at the same time.
